The Hamburg and European Renal Omics-Biobank (HERO) provides a unique source of longitudinal clinical data and diverse biospecimens from adults and children with a broad spectrum of kidney diseases. In addition to comprehensive clinical phenotyping of patients, HERO focuses on single cell and OMICS analyses to identify critical cells, signaling pathways, and targets for new therapies to gain a better understanding of kidney diseases and their pathogenesis, in order to refine diagnoses and prognoses and provide individualized and optimized treatment to patients in the future.
