Chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease are rising in numbers world-wide and present a major health burden. To validate and translate our research into the clinic, we have set up and are collaborating with multiple biobanks, cohorts and registries for the analysis of human tissue, blood and urine.

These include: Hamburg Glomerulonephritis Registry (>700 cases until 2020), Hamburg Biopsy Archive (>180.000 samples), European Renal cDNA Bank – Kröner-Fresenius-Biobank (>3200 samples), Hamburg European Renal OMICs Biobank (starting 2021), Hamburg City Health Study (>40.000 samples prospective cohort).
