SOMACROSS - Persistent SOMAtic Symptoms ACROSS Diseases: From Risk Factors to Modification
The new research group FOR 5211, led by the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) for four years with approximately 4.6 million euros. The goal of the interdisciplinary research group is to identify common and disease-specific risk factors and mechanisms of somatic symptom chronification across a range of diseases. From this, targeted treatment options will be developed that can help to alleviate persistent complaints.
