UKE involved in international research consortium to improve therapy for chronic kidney disease

Researchers at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) are involved in an international research consortium to improve treatment options for chronic kidney disease (CKD). The PRIME-CKD consortium wants to validate and implement in clinical practice, novel biomarkers that predict the response to existing drugs used by patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), in order to improve the management and prognosis of CKD patients. PRIME-CKD is funded by Horizon Europe, the European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, with around 9 million euros for five years. Of this, around 540.000 euros will go to the UKE.
